My First Christmas Cards!

Today, I finally got to go down to my crafting area and make my very first Christmas cards...ever!  I had some fun trying to find just the right combinations of Copic colors to color with.

House Mouse

I think House Mouse stamps are so cute.  But I've always shied away from them because they seemed so complicated to color, the images are very detailed.  But I found a sale on stamps and decided to buy a few.  It was a lot of fun.  I think I still need practice with them.  But my first card isn't too bad for a first attempt with House Mouse.  If you look closely, you'll see a little sparkle in the glow around the Christmas lights!

Christmas Bells

I was just trying some techniques I've seen on other stamping sites.  For instance, I was practicing blending with my Copics.  Also, the green paper is actually from Basic Grey's Little Black Dress collection.  I did direct to paper application of Memento ink in Cottage Ivy.  I think it helps the card to have a simple, country look.

Sweet Tilda!

This is my fall version of Magnolia.  My printed paper is from Memory Box.  The flowers are paper flowers that I colored with co-ordinating Copic markers so that they would match.  They're held on with a Ladybug red brad from Doodlebug Designs.  Bottom right corner has three black jewels also from Doodlebug Designs.

(Please forgive the vertical lines in the photo.  Apparently I had my Ott light too close to the camera.)

Edwin

Magnolia's Edwin as Dracula for Halloween.  How scary is that?!  The spiderweb image is also from Magnolia.  The spider is from Jolee.  The brads are from, of course,  Doodlebug Designs.   I also used my Spica clear glitter marker on the spiderweb for a little sparkle.

The paper I used here is also from Memory Box.  I stamped my image with VersaMark ink and used Zing black embossing powder.  The large image is from Stampendous.

Till in Fall Leaves

A tumble in the leaves is the best way to usher in the fall!  Tilda seems to be having a great deal of fun! Although it didn't come out on the photo, the orange, gold, and red leaves are colored with a Spica clear glitter marker.

Pictures of cards over the last few months...

I love Magnolia stamps!  I love other stamps, too.  Like Gina K. Designs stamps and Tim Holtz, I do love those, too.  But there is something about a Magnolia stamp that just captures my heart.  My favorite color is blue, so that makes this card one of my absolute favorites!

This is another Magnolia stamp.  I don’t know if you can see it very well, but her puddle and raindrops have sparkle.  I colored them with a Spica clear colored marker.

Here is a sample of a Tim Holtz card that I did last spring.  It looks like a fall style card, but I was just pulling colors from the printed paper.  The focal image and sentiment pieces were cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities.  The image with Deckled Rectangle and the sentiment with Rectangle.
